Two skin renewal treatments, for different needs — to help you choose the one that matches your diagnosis.
In short
Peeling and microneedling are both non-invasive skin renewal treatments, but they work differently. Peeling uses acids to exfoliate the surface layers of the skin, with a possible instant glow effect from the first session. Microneedling creates micro-channels using micro-needles to stimulate collagen deeper in the skin and enhance serum penetration, with a progressive result over a course of several sessions. The choice depends on your goal: a quick glow or deeper regeneration.
Detailed comparison
| Peeling | Microneedling | |
|---|---|---|
| Mechanism | Acids that promote the removal of superficial cells and stimulate skin regeneration | Micro-channels created by sterile, single-use micro-needles, stimulating collagen and elastin and enhancing the penetration of targeted serums |
| Depth of action | Works mainly on the skin's surface layers | Works deeper, directly stimulating the dermis |
| Recommended protocol | 1 session for an instant glow, or 3 to 5 sessions 10 to 15 days apart for a deeper treatment | A course of 3 to 4 sessions, 2 to 3 weeks apart |
| Main indications | Dull complexion, pigmentation spots, skin texture, blemishes, wrinkles depending on the protocol chosen | Skin texture, superficial acne scars, wrinkles and fine lines, pigmentation spots, loss of firmness |
| Contraindications | Irritated or reactive skin, active herpes, pregnancy or breastfeeding, planned sun exposure within 7 days | Pregnancy or breastfeeding, active herpes, anticoagulants or ongoing dermatological treatment, history of abnormal scarring |
| Starting price | From €110 | From €195 |
Strict sun protection is mandatory after a peel. See the treatment menu for the full pricing detail by area and protocol.
Making the right choice
These two treatments work on different layers of the skin. Combining them in the same protocol isn't systematic: a personalised diagnosis helps define the approach best suited to your skin and your goals.
Your questions
Both target skin texture, but differently: peeling works on the surface through exfoliation, with visible results from the first session. Microneedling stimulates collagen deeper in the skin, with a course of 3 to 4 sessions for a progressive improvement in texture.
Microneedling is particularly suited to superficial acne scars, as it directly stimulates dermal regeneration. The anti-blemish peel (Blemiskin protocol) works more on texture and active blemishes, at surface level.
Peeling starts at €110, compared with €195 for microneedling. Microneedling involves a course of several sessions, which also explains the difference in total budget.
Peeling is better suited: a single session is enough for an instant glow, provided strict sun protection is followed afterwards. Microneedling requires a course of several sessions spaced 2 to 3 weeks apart, with a more progressive result.
Both treatments are not recommended during pregnancy, breastfeeding or active herpes. Peeling adds a specific caution around sun exposure within 7 days of the session, while microneedling is also not recommended during anticoagulant treatment or with a history of abnormal scarring.
